Volunteer Information

  • The exhibition is open daily from 10.30am to 5.00pm.

  • Volunteer shifts are morning and afternoon (10am to 1.30pm and 1pm to 5pm)

  • Volunteers should dress in a smart casual manner with comfortable shoes. Pink, East Cheshire Hospice lanyards will be issued to identify volunteers.

  • There will be a volunteer briefing at the start of each shift.

Welcome Desk

  •  Meet and greet visitors, welcoming them to the Art Fair

  • Provide information about the three galleries where work is on display

  • Provide information about other facilities such as lift, café, toilets

  • Encourage visitors to buy a programme

  • Encourage visitors to buy raffle tickets

  • Make them feel welcome, excited to see the art, and pleased to support the hospice

Room Stewards

  • Support visitors as they view and consider purchasing art. Located in one of the three galleries Room Stewards will answer simple questions about the items on sale or will be able to refer them to the shift manager.

  • Act as the first point of contact for anyone wishing to make a purchase.

  • Be aware of the security of items on display. Do not leave artwork unattended

  • Make visitors feel welcome and support their purchase inquiries

Sales Desk

  • Process all purchases using izettle online sales system (this is straightforward and training will be provided.  There will always be someone experienced working with you)

  • Wrap purchased items if they are to be taken away immediately

  • Answer questions about the items on sale

Cafe

  • Make tea, coffee and soft drinks to order and serve cake

  • Take payment using izettle system (training will be provided)

  • Keep tables clean and wash up as necessary

  • Make visitors feel welcome and support their purchase choices
